About
Trevor Harris
 |
Roland
Hill Awards 1998 |
Trevor
Harris was born in 1949 in Pinner, Middlesex. He attended
his local Grammar school, and like many schoolboys, had
a keen interest in philately. By the age of 14, he was
running his school’s stamp club.
Trevor
was educated at Christ’s College, where he studied
Economics and British Constitution. After completing
his studies, he went to work in his family’s textile
company, which he assumed would be his future career,
but when his local stamp dealer announced that he was
retiring, Trevor had no hesitation in buying his business.
He
has served as both Vice-Chairman and Treasurer of the
PTS and Stampex, and in 1998 won the Rowland Hill Award
for his researches into the stamps of GB King Edward
VII. This was followed in 2005 by his winning the prestigeous
GB Journal Cup for journalistic excellence, following
his articles in his Edward VII Column in the GBPS
Journal in 2004. |
